LaKesha Howard-Williams (she/her) is a
queer African American artist and educator
based in Chicago, IL. Her 11 years in
photography is centered on documentary and
image making through digital and analog
practice. LaKesha’s work focuses on identity,
culture, and traditions; webbed through
analyzing--then dismantling Black trauma. A
graduate of Columbia College Chicago, she
now works as a Production Assistant and
Photographer throughout the Chicagoland
area.
LaKesha participated as the Emerging Artist
for our Documentation Art Talk.

Andrea Yarbrough (she/her) is a Chicago-
based educator and maker. Her curatorial
and artistic practice centers on stewarding
vacant land and blends civic engagement
and art praxis. Her community-centered
visual arts production shapes local policy on
Chicago’s South Side by reactivating
neglected land as sites of care that help heal
individuals and regenerate collective
imaginations. She is a steward of in c/o:
Black women, an artist cooperative building
cartographies of care. Andrea was named a
2020 AFIELD Mentee and will contribute to
the 2021 Chicago Architecture Biennial with
in c/o: Black women.
