Capacity Building... 9,500 square feet

       Center for Capacity Building
Provides a strong nonprofit sector by equipping agencies with improved structure, expertise, and
accountability. Communities are generally organized around government, business, and nonprofits. If all
three sectors are not present and strong, it limits a community’s ability to grow.

               Bottom Line
Rural philanthropy remains underfunded in eastern North Carolina. Strengthening our nonprofit sector will create
new sources of funding and help identify community assets that can be used to produce economic opportunities
and promote new partnerships in workforce
investment strategies. “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can
change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
