1.2 Past participle
The past participle is used as a passive
adjective. The passive adjective expresses how
someone feels.
For example :
The bored man went to sleep during the
discussion. (the past participle 'bored' is used to
mean that the man himself was bored)
2. Infinitive
Infinitive is a base form of a verb.
1. The function of infinitive.
1.1. The infinitive as the subject of sentence.
To wait seemed foolish when decisive
action was required.
1.2 The infinitive as the direct object.
Everyone went to go.
1.3 The infinitive as the subject complement
His ambition is to fly.
1.4 The infinitive as the adjective.
He lacked the strength to resist.
1.5 The infinitive as the adverb.
We must study to learn.
