Microsoft Office includes much more than these old stalwarts, though. In partic- ular, Office includes the following applications:
» Access: A database application used to collect, store, manipulate, and report on data.
» Excel: An application used for data analysis and numeric manipulation.
» OneDrive for Business: A cloud-based, file storage service that is part of
Office 365.
» OneNote: An application used for capturing and organizing notes.
» Outlook: An application used for email, contacts, and calendaring including scheduling meetings, meeting rooms, and other resources.
» PowerPoint: An application used to create and deliver presentations.
» Publisher: An application used to create and share publications and market-
ing materials, such as brochures, newsletters, post cards, and greeting cards.
» SharePoint: A web-based platform that lets you easily create an Intranet for your organization. An Intranet is just an internal-only website where you find content, see company policies, and find other such internal tasks.
» Word: An application used for word processing, such as creating and editing documents.
The list of apps available with Office 365 continue to grow. Microsoft has intro- duced a range of apps to help its users be even more productive. Following are additional options to help you get more from your Office 365 subscription:
» Bookings: An online appointment scheduling application for small busi- nesses. Customers can schedule appointments and automatically get confirmations, reminders, updates, and cancellation notices.
» Business Center: A three-in-one business application for appointment scheduling, invoicing, email marketing, and managing your business’ online presence.
» Delve: An application that helps you handle the deluge of digital content. A newcomer to Office 365, Delve is an extension to SharePoint and OneDrive. Delve shows you content it thinks you want to see, and learns from your behaviors as you work. For example, you might see the latest content your immediate coworkers have updated or updates to content you have had interest in previously.
If you’re tech savvy, you will quickly recognize that OneDrive for Business is powered by SharePoint.
