University Song
THE CHANCELLOR invites the University Singers to lead the Company in the singing of the University Song saying:
“THE UNIVERSITY SINGERS WILL NOW LEAD THE COMPANY...”
PERFORMANCE (3 – 4 Minutes)
Closure of Ceremony
THE CHANCELLOR then rises and says:
“THIS BRINGS TO A CLOSE THE PUBLIC CEREMONY BY WHICH THE UNIVERSITY OF THE WEST INDIES HAS SIGNALIZED THE AWARD OF DEGREES, DIPLOMAS AND CERTIFICATES TO ITS GRADUATES. THE COMPANY WILL NOW DISPERSE, BUT NOT BEFORE PERMITTING ME TO ESCORT THE (REPRESENTATIVES OF THE GOVERNMENT) AND ALLOWING THE PROCESSIONS TO LEAVE.”
The Company stands and remains standing until the Processions, inclusive of the graduates, have retired. The processions leave in reverse order.
