The Guest Speaker’s Address
THE CHANCELLOR then invites Dr. Herman Carl McCall to address the Company saying: “I NOW INVITE DR. HERMAN CARL MCCALL TO ADDRESS THE COMPANY.”
Dr. Herman Carl McCall addresses the Company and returns to his seat.
THE CHANCELLOR invites the University Singers to perform, saying: “THE UNIVERSITY SINGERS WILL NOW PERFORM.”
PERFORMANCE (3 – 4 Minutes)
The Award of First Degrees
THE UNIVERSITY REGISTRAR caps the Chancellor and says:
“CHANCELLOR, THE PERSONS WHOSE NAMES WILL BE CALLED, STUDIED IN THE UNIVERSITY OF THE WEST INDIES, AND HAVING FULFILLED THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF THE WEST INDIES, BEG LEAVE TO BE PRESENTED TO YOU AND TO THE SENATE OF THE UNIVERSITY BY THE REPRESENTATIVE OF THEIR FACULTY AS BACHELORS OF SCIENCE, OR BACHELORS OF MEDICINE AND BACHELORS OF SURGERY OR BACHELORS OF MEDICAL SCIENCES OR BASIC MEDICAL SCIENCES OR NURSING OR PHYSICAL THERAPY OR DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING OR DOCTORS OF DENTAL SURGERY OR DOCTORS OF VETERINARY MEDICINE OF THE UNIVERSITY OF THE WEST INDIES.”
