                   a gun, look it up in the manufacturer’s service manual.




                   You should start accumulating all of the litera-
                   ture that is currently available. Furthermore, you
                   should keep it arranged so it is readily available
                   when the need arises. Filing cabinets are ideal,
                   but cardboard boxes will suffice for the present
                   time. Just make sure you file the literature so you
                   can find what you need without going through
                   the whole pile and arrange the material in alpha-
                   numerical order: first  by  manufacturer,  then  by
                   model number.
                   Manufacturers’  service  manuals  can  range
                   in price from $1 to perhaps as high as $75.
                   However, some literature is free. Now would be
                   a good time to inquire as to the availability and
                   price of service manuals and parts catalogs that
                   manufacturers offer.
                   You can find a list of the major firearm manu-
                   facturers and importers in the United States on-
                   line at various sites.
