Academies (IFHRA) where Olds College in Alberta represents Canada as a voting Member Country with Theresa Sealy being appointed the designated representative when the Federation was created in 2015.
The IFHRA was initiated by H. H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE and Minister of Presidential Affairs to nurture and give a positive direction to aspiring  at racing jockeys and Horse Racing Professionals. The mission and vision of the IFHRA is the development of Horse Racing Academies throughout the world to provide scienti c, educational curriculum and world class standards of Jockey practises to apprentices and to provide for such development by ensuring fundraising.
An overview of the goals of the Federation include establishing statutes, regulations and rules for jockey education and a clean racing culture and encourage the development of Academies throughout the world.
Both the Festival and Federation are an incredible experience for those who attend and important
for Canada to be a part of when it comes to being represented in the worldwide community of horse racing.

The Thoroughbred breed of hot-blood horse that we all know today is traced back to 1791 England where native English mares were crossed with imported Arabians such as Darley Arabian, Godolphin Arabian and Byerley Turk as well as Barbs, Turomans and Oriental stallions to produce re nement.
