Fire Safety Training at Woodbine
Apprentices Still on Top at Woodbine
Apprentice Jockeys Emma Jayne Wilson and Corey Fraser continue to bat- tle it out at Woodbine. Although they are rivals on the racetrack the pair remain amicable as Corey helps Emma cool off with a spray from the hose.
Emma continues to be leading rider at Woodbine with a record of 66-62-50 and $2,593,3460 in earnings in 402 starts while Corey has continued to stalk in second with a record of 60-52-46 and $2,613,922 in 315 starts.
Jockeys Jim McAleney
(257-44-46-41 - $3,039,152);
Patrick Husbands (297-41-47-47 - $2,478,661); and Todd Kabel (224-41-38-27 - $2,986,129) round out the top five at Woodbine.
Woodbine Entertainment Group’s Manager of Fire Safety Services,
Bob Webb (middle) is surrounded by backstretch workers
from barns 1 to 3 who attended the mandatory Fire Safety Training which began in July and will continue every Monday (non-race days) until every backstretch employee has attended. The fire safety training is just one of the requirements of backstretch employees in the fire safety awareness campaign and fire safety regulations which were put into place after the deadly fire that ripped through two barns on August 5, 2002. All backstretch employees must attend the seminar and receive their fire safety sticker on the back of their ORC license. If you cannot attend on the date specified for your barn you can attend any one of the other dates. Contact Bob Webb at 416-675-3993 ext 2260 for more information.
