Trainer Robert Tiller and his Assistant, Tom Lottridge (behind), get an early start on the season with 35 horses in training as of February 19. Robert, who has another 10 horses left to ship in, said that the training track has been great despite the cold.
The Equilease owned 3-year-old filly, Summer Girlfriend, by Forest Camp, glides through her morning training with Gemini Caine aboard for trainer John Charalambous.
~ Training at Woodbine ~
A few horses
were able to train before a flash freeze on February 17 caused the closer of the training track at Woodbine.
A pair of 3-year-olds Prominent Cause (inside) with Michelle Wight aboard and Valiant Cause with Tony Phillips aboard looked professional in the sand ring under the guidance of owner/trainer Paul Lepiane at Woodbine.
Jockey Eduardo Manalad is busy getting on horses at Woodbine in February before heading back to Fort Erie for the 2006 season.
Who are those masked men?! The frigid weather in February didn’t interrupt training too much in the morning at Woodbine.
Exercise rider Andy Sykes aboard the Sid Attard trained Verne’s Baby who is getting ready to come back in 2006 off of an injury suffered early in 2005.
Hotwalker Joe DeFrancesco; Agent Mike Luider and Trainers Tommy O’Keefe, John Charalambous and Nick DeToro take shelter from the bitter cold in the training shack at Woodbine.
