Horse Breeders and Owners Conference, Red Deer, Alberta
Pic Right - Horse Racing Alberta was pleased to participate this year with a booth in the exhibit hall at the conference. This was the first time they had had a booth at the conference and everyone rallied to make it a success. Dr. David C. Reid, Chairman, Horse Racing Alberta (second from left) was presented with The Alberta Horse Industry Distinguished Service Award at the 24th annual Horse Breeders and Owners Conference in Red Deer, Alberta on the evening of January 14, 2006. Recipients of the award are nominated based on the criteria of an indi- vidual who has had the greatest impact in the growth and development of the horse industry in Alberta. Pictured here from left to right are: Peter Fraser, President of the Board of Directors of the Horse Industry Association of Alberta; Dr. David Reid and his wife Faye; and Gordon Wilson, President of both the National and Alberta Divisions of the CTHS.
Dr. Reid was also named the recipient of the Cam Fella Award for his role in revitalizing the horse racing industry in Alberta. He was pre- sented with the award on January 28 at the annual O’Brien Awards in Mississauga, Ontario.
