Each year, the CTHS (Ontario Division) awards a $5,000 College or University Scholarship (bursary) based on academic ability and participation in academic/training programs related to the horse or horse racing industry.
The CTHS (Ontario Division) would like to congratulate both Miss Grguric and Miss Weatherall, and we wish all applicants the best of luck with their schooling and future careers.

Members Decide on Site Proposal
Based on polling results from its members, the CTHS (Ontario Division) has announced the implementation of the WEG site proposal for future CTHS sales to be held at the Woodbine Racetrack Sales Pavilion.
The confidential poll was mailed out to 606 CTHS (Ontario Division) full voting members. Audited by BDO Dunwoody LLP, 316 responses were received, with 243 in favour of the Woodbine proposal, 67 in favour of the Arkell Property proposal, and six ballots spoiled. The CTHS (Ontario Division) has procured a lease extension to encompass the 2006 Sales’ year, and the Directors are in the process of pushing forward with the proposal as voted upon. The membership will be advised of all further developments herein.
Thoroughbreds Excel in the Show Ring
Each year, through their Performance Thoroughbred Program, the CTHS (Ontario Division) takes pride in honouring talented Thoroughbreds who excel in the show ring. This past year, the CTHS (Ontario Division) continued their sponsorship by honouring the riders of top Thoroughbreds who were year-end divisional winners at the Ontario Horse Trials.
CTHS member Gail Park Rogers of Tamarack Lane Farm presented five recipients with Thoroughbred Awards, consisting of individual prizes of $500 and CTHS horse coolers, at the Ontario Horse Trials Association’s (OHTA) Annual Awards banquet held at the Kleinburg Country Club in December.
The CTHS (Ontario Division) would like to congratulate: Daelin Verkindt, Training Thoroughbred Champion, on
