2005 Queen’s Plate Fantasy Challenge
The Roger Attfield trained Ablo, gets an affectionate pat from his groom, John Attfield.
Groom Dean Barrett with the Ivan Dalos owned Runnaway Mon who was scratched the morning of the Plate by trainer Mark Casse who stated that the horse had “rapped himself” while training on June 24 and the left front leg was still inflamed Sunday. Mark said the horse is sound but wasn’t 100%.
The Queen’s Plate Fantasy Challenge Pro’s Picks winner was Shirley Gill of Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Publications, who is pictured here with third place finisher, The Game’s Steve Roberts, after the Queen’s Plate at Woodbine. Stacie Clark-Rogers, a former Woodbine Television Personality, finished second. (unofficial results).
Shirley accumulated 1106 points gaining 170 points for Wild Desert. Jockeys Todd Kabel and Emile Ramsammy along with trainer Roger Attfield, and his contender Ablo, and trainer Reade Baker each padded

with Jockey Todd Kabel, trainer Reade
Baker and horse Ablo, providing the biggest bang on her list.
Steve had Wild Desert as his stable star which he combined with jockey Todd Kabel along with Jockey Gerry Olguin and his mount Ablo which ultimately provided the majority of points for his picks.
Nancy Fiorillo of Richmond Hill was (un-officially) the winner in the public Queen’s Plate Challenge with 1109 with Wild Desert being her stable star and having jockeys Todd Kabel and Emile Ramsammy in her picks.
