Woodbine based exercise rider, Melanie Leavey, returns to trainer Roger Att eld’s barn at Payson Park in Florida aboard 2000 Champion 2 Year-old Filly, Poetically.
in 2000 Poetically broke her maiden in her  rst start and won the Ontario Debutante, Glorious Song, and Ontario Lassie Stakes at Woodbine. The following year she  nished second to Quick Blue in the Bison City Stakes at Fort Erie and was the winner of the Jammed Lovely. Poetically was retired after a  fth place  nish in the G3 Bessarabian H. and was sold in 2003 at Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale in foal to A.P. Indy to B. Hughes for $2,050,000.
Jockey Neil Poznansky is aboard the Mike Doyle trained Rich Light with Mike’s Assistant Trainer Skippy Bowen.
In 1996 Neil was named both the Eclipse and Sovereign Award Apprentice for that year and continued to ride until 2008. During his career he rode G3 winner Heliotrope and G2 winner Desert Waves as well as Les Roberts’ (my Dad) Multiple stakes winners Masada and Inspired Kiss.
He then became Assistant for US Trainer Bill Mott and was the topic of this article in 2010 while galloping Courageous Cat at Meydan for the Dubai World Cup

Skippy “Jeffrey” Bowen is still a popular  gure at Woodbine and has been the Assistant to Trainer Ian Black for a number of years now.
Did You Know.....
That Fort Erie Race Track has been a showplace for Thoroughbred racing for more than a century and is the racetrack where the legendary Northern Dancer won his  rst race.
