Did You Know...
That as a follow-up to a rule revision in August 2005, The Jockey Club sent teams of representatives to numerous farms in nines states in December 2006 to inspect broodmares with early 2006 breeding or foaling dates.
The rule revision was implemented due to the growing concerns of the accuracy of Thoroughbred foals reported being born in the first several days of January.
The findings reported that indeed a small number of foals had been born prior to January 1 and they will be registered as foals of 2006.
This bay colt by Mobil was less than 2 days old at the time of this photo. Born February 13, the colt is out of the mare Stop Looking, by Dr. Adagio. The mare is booked to Wando for 2007.

(Mt. Livermore X Vice Regent mare) was enjoying his first day outside. The colt, who is owned by Debbie MacLean and her daughter Jennifer Schickedanz, weighed in at 146 lbs at birth on February 13,
and was just 4 days old
at the time of the photo.

at Silver Duck Farm for proud owners
Ravi and Joannie Sugrim.
The mare is by Ten Gold Pots out of Cairn Grata SP, the dam of stake winner, Regal Courser ($298, 850). According to Silver Duck Farm Owner, Tim Drake, the colt is a "well proportioned, stout colt". Veterinarian Rolph de Gannes agrees and states
