The William Farish Jr. owned and Mark Casse trained, Seaside Retreat finished a game second in the $1,000,000 Gr.2 Virginia Derby on the turf on July 15 at Colonial Downs in Virginia. He added another $200,000 to his career earnings for the second place finish behind the William Mott trained Go Between with his regular rider Patrick Husbands in the irons.

This year's 2006 CTHS (Ontario) Canadian-Bred Yearling Sale will be held at the Woodbine Racetrack Sales Pavilion, with the Selected Session on Tuesday, September 5 and the Preferred Session on Saturday, September 9, 2006. With an outstand- ing lineup of close to 500 promising Canadian-Bred yearlings, represented by 100+ leading North American sires, there is no better place to buy!
"This year's Sale represents a fine crop of yearlings by young exciting stallions as well as sire power from both Canada and the U.S.," said Ryan Mahan of Ryan Mahan & Associates, whose auctioning services have once again been retained by the CTHS. "There are also a number of good, athletic horses in the Preferred session as well. I think horsemen will be very impressed with what they see."
