Nine-year-old Paint horse, Bearie, was decked out in his zebra blanket with owner Gwen Kitchen in between performances of the Canadian Cowgirls Rodeo Drill Team. Gwen has been part of the 16 member team since its debut at the first Can-Am show four years ago. The Canadian Cowgirls team, sponsored by TSC, has been travelling and showing ever since. They were the winners of the Best Mounted Unit
two-years running at the Kentucky Derby Parade, the only Canadian entry in the parade. This year they are scheduled to be part of the opening ceremonies and Canada Celebrations in Calgary. For more information and 2006 schedule visit www.canadiancowgirls.com
Rita Schnitzler is taking a break
from training and is working for Elec Western Medical Devices pro- moting and selling the Centurion products which offer magnetic field and Laser therapy for horses. Rita says she is very familiar with the products which she herself used with her horses at the racetrack. So far she has travelled to Arizona, New York, California, Florida and Ohio and says that her new job is a nice transition because she is still around horses.

ucts which are being developed by the company keep the business exciting for Rita who admitted that she needed to get away from the stresses of the horseracing business,“I’m getting older and wanted to try something new.”
