Trainer Richard Davis leads 5 year-old Roxy’s Brew and Jockey Jeffrey Alderson out to the training track at Woodbine for a work on March 6. This winter Richard has been training (and swimming) his client’s horses at the Fort Erie Training Centre across from Fort Erie Race Track. Shipping horses in to Woodbine for their works, Richard will be training approximately 8 horses for himself and various other owners at Fort Erie Race Track once the backstretch opens for 2017.
Richard purchased Roxy’s Brew after his race on October 9, 2016 at Fort Erie. He won his next start back at Fort Erie and recorded another win November 23 at Woodbine.
A multiple stakes winning trainer, Richard’s most notable horses include, Mountain Echo, Explosive Greek and Yes It’s Red.

Anthony continues to train at Fort Erie, Kristen works in the Fort Erie Race Of ce, Sandspit was retired from racing in 2011 and Kayla is currently in high school (grade 10) and cheers Jeffrey on at Fort Erie whenever he is riding there.

Michael Owen to Ride in Charity Race at Ascot
Former star footballer and racehorse owner Michael Owen, who sat on a horse for the  rst time just this year, will ride
in The Prince’s Countryside Fund Charity Race on Nov.
24 at Ascot. Owen, the owner of Manor House Stables in Cheshire, said, “It has been a long-term ambition of mine to learn how to ride and race, but as a professional footballer it was not possible.”
The Prince’s Countryside Fund was founded by HRH The Prince of Wales in 2010 to help secure a brighter future for British farmers and the countryside. Each year it provides over 1.5 million pound in grants to projects across the UK as well as running its own programmes such as The Prince’s Farm Resilience Programme. READ STORY HERE
