It was The Game day at Fort Erie on Monday, September 5. The Game handed out string pens to 500 race fans and presented each of the winning grooms that day with a “Game” hat and t-shirt. The Game was also proud to make the trophy presentation to the winners of the Centre Stage Anne Cup. Pictured here from left to right are: Fort Erie’s Director of Racing, Herb McGirr Sr.;
The Game’s Frank Hobbs, who presented the owner with a blanket courtesy of The Game; Mr. Luxton, owner of winner, Kirlan; Jockey, Happy Ando; Trainer, Robert Williams; and The Game’s Stacie Roberts.
Regal Red Injured Again
Trainer Robbie Anderson reported that BC’s 2004 champion 3-year-old filly, Regal Red, is back on the injury list with a saucer fracture similar to the cannon-bone fracture she sustained following her win in the Strawberry Morn stakes on April 23.
The Fred and Corrine Gumprich owned filly made her return with a second in the Cover Girl Handicap. She sustained her latest injury after a six-furlong work in September with Anderson reported as saying, ‘It looks like it’s in the same place.’
Regal Red, who won all five of her races in 2004, is retired for the year and the decision has yet to be made on whether they will bring her back next season.
