After Escaping Dreadful Fire Conquest Tsunami has Flourished Stateside
Conquest Tsunami with a “powerhouse performance” was a winner off a one week turn around at Santa Anita on January 27, 2019 in the Clockers’ Corner Stakes.
Bred in Ontario by Ted Burnett’s Josham Farms Limited and Yvonne Schwabe Thoroughbreds, Conquest Tsunami sold
for $190,000 to Conquest Stables as a yearling. The Stormy Atlantic - Classic Neel gelding burst onto the scene at two winning his  rst four career starts which included the Victoria and Colin Stakes at Woodbine with trainer Mark Casse. He added another stakes victory, the Street Sense at Churchill Downs to round out his two year old season.
After a set back at age 3, only competing in two races that year, his next win was in allowance company at Woodbine at age 4 before Conquest Stables dispersed and Conquest Tsunami was purchased at auction by Gary Barber remaining in the barn of Mark Casse.
Conquest Tsunami did not record a win in 2017 and after  nishing 7th at Woodbine on November 5 he was moved to California to the barn of trainer Peter Miller. A month later on December 7, a devastating wild re swept through the San Luis Rey horse-training facility where he was stabled. Fortunately he was released from his stall and escaped the  re. He was found unscathed several days later.
A little more than a month following the
 re, in January 2018, Conquest Tsunami won an Allowance Optional Claiming by 4-1/2 lengths at Santa Anita and followed that up with
a decisive win in the G3 Daytona Stakes in February.
Training Center with trainer Peter Miller con rming that he is pointed to the San Simeon Stakes March 16 at Santa Anita. Announced in late February, Conquest Tsunami is one of
the four  nalists for the Dubai Racing Club’s People’s Choice Award, a fan-voted accolade recognizing the most compelling 2018 moment in horseracing. Recognized as a G1SW and a survivor of the San Luis Rey Downs  re Conquest Tsunami was nominated along with; trainer Eve Johnson-Houghton who saddled Accidental Agent (GB) (Delegator {GB}) to win the G1 Queen Anne S. at Royal Ascot; Australian supermare Winx (Aus) (Street Cry {Ire}); and legendary jockey Yutaka Take. Voting closed Feb. 28 and the award will be presented at the HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Horseracing Excellence Awards ceremony on Mar. 28, just two days prior to the $35-million Dubai World Cup night.

Tsunami’s third start of
2018. Competing in the
$1 million, G1 Al Quoz

Cup night. He  nished a

At Belmont Park in June he was second in the G2 Jaipur Invitational Stakes and was again runner up in the G3 Eddie D Stakes at Santa Anita in September that year.
In 2019, the now seven year-old made three starts in January at Santa Anita,  nishing with a pair of thirds January 1 and January 19 before winning the Clockers’ Corner Stakes January 27. (watch the replay here)
