Bright Future for Brite Adam
Ginny Johnson walked in to the auction auditorium just as stallion Brite Adam was in the ring at the CTHS Winter Mixed Sale in November. Like the previous

eight years, Ginny was attending the sale looking
for mares and potential re-trains for her sport horse business. Ginny, who has been breeding for sport for
more than 22 years, likes the thoroughbreds because they are a good cross for breeding eventing prospects.

The auctioneers were trying their best to get a bid however no one was interested in the handsome chestnut in the ring.
Two years ago Ginny had lost her sport horse stallion, Santar, a 20-year-old thoroughbred, however she had not intended on purchasing a new stallion that day.
“I put my hand up.” said Ginny, who was familiar with the stallion from the book, “I couldn’t let him go without a bid. I got him for $1000. It was the only bid.”
for Brite Adam he has gone from one good home to another.
Fate must be on his side because fortunately
Ginny’s Wintar Sport Horse Services is located in Waterdown, Ontario and is home to her 2 broodmares, 2 other young stallion prospects and a 24-year-
old thoroughbred retiree named Third Time Lucky. The 150 acre farm is the property of the Hewick family who were instrumental in introducing Ginny to thoroughbreds.

“The Hewicks had a stallion, Shine Sun, which they leased off Steve and Ron Lister.” explained Ginny, “That’s how I got interested in thoroughbreds.”
A horse crazy youngster, Ginny was born and raised in Hamilton and began as a casual rider at the age of ve and took
a serious interest in riding as a teenager. The horse business has provided Ginny with a wealth of career opportunities from becoming a senior inspector of mare and stallion sport horses to her current position as the chief drug test inspector at Woodbine for both the thoroughbreds and standardbreds.
Ginny will continue to offer Brite Adam to thoroughbred clients as well
as sport horse clients. “He’s a big horse with good conformation. A beautiful neck and a good quarter.” Says Ginny with the pride of a new parent, “He had to be good to race to age 6. A good horse is a good horse!”
Brite Adam was previously owned and raced by RMC Stables and entered stud in 2002 after a successful racing career.
He won the Simcoe Stakes at age 2 and placed in the Display and Coronation Futurity. At age 3, he was an impressive winner of the Plate Trial Stakes by 8
1/2 lengths defeating Archers Bay, in what was touted as “one of the most impressive winners in the Plate Trial Stakes in the history of the classics.”
He was second to Archers Bay in the Plate however and had a second in the Achievement Stakes and a Third in the Queenston that year.
At four he was a G3 winner in the Seagram Cup and posted seconds in the G2 Dominion Day H. and the Elgin Stakes.
Brite Adam did not race at age 5 and had one second in 8 starts at age 6. He was retired to stud duty with career earnings of more than $460,000.
From a limited number of foals, Brite Adam has sired 8 winners. He is Ontario Sire Stakes registered and will stand for $2000 in 2009.
Ginny has received a number of emails from loyal fans and followers of Brite Adam and she welcomes visitors to
see the handsome chestnut at the farm anytime.
