Old Friends Thoroughbred Retirement Farm founder Michael Blowen said trainer D. Wayne Lukas got a look in his eye at one point during a Dec. 4 visit to see new arrival Charismatic at the Georgetown, Ky. farm, and with a smile said, “Maybe we can run him again.”

Two Year Olds In Training Sale March 1 in Florida
The Gulfstream Selected 2 year-old’s in training sale conducted by Fasig-Tipton is scheduled for Wednesday, March 1 at Gulfstream Park, Hallendale Beach, Florida. The under tack show will take place on Monday, February 27. For more information visit fasig-tipton.com
Justice for Sargon
A Go Fund Me account has been set up by Kim Wilson of Lindsay, Ontario to raise the $3500 needed to implement a new law which will not allow auction houses to accept horses without proof of ownership and consent.
Sargon’s Law will be named for her 11 year-old ex- Thoroughbred racehorse who was sent to slaughter by a third party without her knowledge this past September. Read More Here Be Aware of the Scams
The funds will be used to pay a lawyer to stand with Kim in Supreme Court. If successful, Sargon’s Law be the equivalent to hunting and  shing laws where poachers can be penalized and  ned.
OTTB charities join
the growing TAA ‘network’
As part of a growing effort by the Thoroughbred industry to take care of retiring racehorses coming off the track, eight Thoroughbred charities were just recently added to a growing network of facilities deemed to have met the “high bar” of best practices and standards for Thoroughbred aftercare.
