2006 Queen’s Plate winner, Edenwold, has been sold to Mr. Glyn Morris and will be standing stud this breeding season at his Selwyn River Stud in New Zealand.

Edenwold, (a.k.a “Eddie”) throughout his life was gathered for a “going away” party on May 13 at Woodlands Farm where Edenwold was born and raised.
to  nish second in the Queenston Stakes and third in the Plate Trail Stakes before winning the 2006 Queen’s Plate, a history making win for trainer Josie Carroll who became the  rst female trainer to win the Canadian Classic race. He also had a second in the Woodbine Slots Cup and Mt.Sassafras Stakes later that year.
Bred by Gail Wood and Bill Diamant, Edenwold, a son of Southern Halo - Best of Friends, was raised at Gail’s Woodlands Farm and sold at the CTHS Yearling Sale in Toronto to Jim and Alice Sapara.
Edenwold was retired from racing in the fall of 2007.
He was crowned Champion Two-Year-Old Male in 2005 after an impressive two-year-old campaign which included 2 stakes wins in his 4

This latest graduating class had a world wide in uence, with students coming from as far as Osaka, Japan, as well as students from P.E.I., Vancouver B.C. and all parts of Alberta.
The graduating class would like to thank everyone involved with the pro- gram. The trainers who donated their experience and their horses, Garry Marks and Deryle Mullaney. Work experience trainers for thorough- bred racing; Robertino Diodoro, Dale Saunders, Rod Cone, Carla Christof- ferson, Floyd Arthur, Kelly Grieves, Ron Grieves, Pinky MacDonald, Stu Simon, Cody Anderson, Jan Wig, Doug MacDonald, Carson Frey, Bob Claments, Rick Hedge.
The course offers students the op- portunity to meet various people from the horse racing community. This year’s class spent time with Racing Steward Al Lennox; Standardbred Judge, Skip Mohorich; Vice President of Northlands Park in Edmonton, Les Butler; along with Quarter Horse train- ers Randy Cunningham and William Leech; Jean Kruse, the Manager for the CTHS in Alberta: and Jockey Real Simard who rode Footprint to victory in the 2007 Canadian Derby and is the head instructor for the Exercise Rider Program.
Work experience trainers for stan- dardbred racing; Joe Ratchford, Rene Goulet, Debbie Manning, Jack Beelby, Rod Starkewski, Harold Haining, Gerry Hudon, Jim Martin, and Gord Remmen.
