ENRICO FERRI – the principal younger colleague of
Lombroso, who coined the term “born criminal.” He
was an Italian criminologist and socialist, worked
on the social and economic factors to crimes, and
authored Criminal Sociology published in 1884.
ENTRAPMENT – deceiving or tricking a person into
committing a crime not contemplated by the
individual; entrapment does not imply the mere act
of a police officer furnishing a person opportunity
to violate the law, where the criminal intent was
already present.
ENVIRONMENT – it covers all external factors
affecting living things such as poverty, stress, age,
presence of other disease or disability, changes in
the weather. Factors in the physical, biological and
social environment that that contribute to health-
related conditions.
EPIDEMIOLOGY – the study of the distribution and
determinants of states of health and illness in
