Bernard Obika
CEO, Roughton Group
Bernard joined leading consultancy firm Roughton in 1999,
and in 2009 became Chief Executive Director. In this role
he advises governments and international organisations
on transport infrastructure development policy and public Business, Corporates, Financiers & Entrepreneurs
private partnerships.
He has nearly 30 years of experience primarily in
transportation engineering and policy, 20 years of which
have been at executive levels with responsibility for more
than 200 major infrastructure and institutional development
projects in Africa, Asia, South America, the Caribbean,
Europe and the UK.
Prior to joining Roughton he worked with the Department
for International Development, the World Bank in
Washington DC, a leading UK consultant and the University
of Birmingham as an academic. He has chaired a number of
specialist government and industry committees and panels
relating to infrastructure development.
Bernard has also published more than 30 technical
papers and major reports on infrastructure and institutional
development issues, and has won the Kolbuszewski Award
for outstanding contribution to International Highway
Engineering.
Netsai Mangwende
Head of Finance for Great Britain,
Willis Towers Watson
Since taking on the role of Head of Finance at Willis Towers
Watson in February, Netsai has been working closely with
the CEO to push the global advisory, broking and solutions
company forward with strategic and robust financial
planning.
An experienced finance professional, with 12 years’
experience in the London insurance market, Netsai
previously worked for AIG as Head of Finance Business
Partnering, UK and Europe. She joined AIG in 2011 as a
Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Manager. She was
promoted to Head of UK FP&A within a year, and thereafter
promoted to UK Finance Director.
A Chartered Accountant, Netsai describes her role as
challenging the operation of business, acting as a catalyst
for change and identifying opportunities for improvement
and development.
Prior to Willis Tower Watson and AIG, Netsai worked
for Royal & Sun Alliance, Deloitte & Touché and
PriceWaterhouseCoopers, in the United Kingdom, Bermuda
and Africa.
In 2014, Netsai was presented with the Women in the City
Woman of Achievement Award. Last year, she was ranked
26th out of 100 leading ethnic minority executives in the
first UPstanding Executive Power List 2016, published in the
Financial Times.
She is well-known for mentoring and inspiring emerging
leaders, and has actively sponsored rising stars. In June
2016, one of her mentees Adobea Atsrefi was named in We
Are The City’s Top 50 rising stars in Insurance.
