Maintenance Engineer II Alonso C. is a Building A engineer on the Day Shift and is an
extremely reliable associate and a knowledgeable mechanic. He assimilates well with his
peers, is very well liked and regularly volunteers for extra hours to work on the Night Shift
to fill in where we are short staffed. Alonso is an expert welder and most recently was
instrumental in designing and fabricating the EXE Printer and PC shelves well ahead of the
transition “go live” day. His hard work and knowledge allowed the IT transition group to set
up the EXE equipment ahead of schedule and our engineers to stay focused on everyday
                                                tasks.
Alonso is more than a valuable asset to the Maintenance Department. More importantly,
he is a valuable asset to Jewel-Osco.

Milton B. is a Jewel driver with 19 years of dedicated service. He is a reliable associate, maintains
a perfect attendance record and demonstrates his commitment to safety by working safely and
avoiding injuries and accidents. Milton is a hard worker and does an excellent job of providing
good service to the “customer”, our retail store partners. He has a pleasant and calm demeanor
                                                                                  th
and exhibits a professional and positive attitude on a regular basis. On August 13 , Milton was in
the yard looking for an empty trailer to take to a backhaul location. Instead he found a fresh load
on the trailer without the reefer unit running and was able to restart the unit.
Because Milton took the time to look into it, report it and correct the issue he prevented a Milton B.
