Dear Doug, Frankfort
I wanted to take a moment and commend you, Jewel Foods Stores and specifically the staff at the
Jewel Food Store in Frankfort, IL. Corporate culture is developed, cultivated and fostered by
executive leadership. So, I wanted to thank you for the value set you have created in your
organization.
My nineteen-year-old daughter is a smart, capable and vibrant young woman. She was diagnosed
in her early teens with high-functioning autism. Autism is a neuro-developmental disability, which
in her case, makes it difficult for her to understand social situations and requires her more time to
process complex tasks that most people take for granted. Her self-awareness of these deficits has
lead her to suffer from extreme anxiety and low self-esteem.
She recently interviewed and was hired by your Frankfort store. We worked with Trinity Services
through the Department of Rehabilitation Services.
The staff at the store has treated my daughter with kindness, patience and most importantly
dignity. It has given her a renewed sense of purpose and self-confidence. I would ask that the store
personnel be recognized in someway for their efforts. The staff is unaware of me writing and I
would ask that you keep my daughter and my anonymity. I’m writing solely out of a sense of
profound gratitude.
Sincerely,
Joe C.
