Due to the recent Coronavirus pandemic, and the unprecedented volume that our operation has seen, Scott has worked tirelessly and his contributions in
providing accurate and timely updates to the stores daily have been invaluable. During the past few weeks he has been working long days in the office and from
home in order to ensure that the proper updates are communicated, making him a critical link to the stores during this challenging time.
Scott is responsible for the daily operation of the “Jewel-Osco Communications Center” serving as a liaison between Melrose Park and our retail partners. He has
regular communication with Store Directors, District Managers, Executive leadership and provides timely and relevant communication to the store teams with a
variety of updates. He always makes himself available, day or night, to field calls from store directors or district managers in the event of power outages, store
ordering issues, emergencies, or other requests. Scott’s responsibilities also include oversight of the store delivery schedules and coordinating “specials” for retail
in order to provide extra deliveries to stores as needed. He also devotes a great deal of time, attention, and detail when reviewing all “holiday logistics” plans for
the stores. He reviews the holiday logistics plan with deliberate focus to ensure nothing is missed, before he communicates it to the Data Center team. Scott and
his team also process credit for the stores to account for short or damaged product. He consistently sends out communication to the stores to update them on
load arrival information.
Scott makes strong contributions to our operation through his consistent efforts to resolve safety opportunities for the drivers at the store level. He is an active
member of the Transportation Safety Committee, and routinely reacts to feedback from the Jewel-Osco drivers. He often reaches out to the store maintenance
team in order to get things done to successfully drive our safety efforts.

For these reasons, we proudly recognize Scott Z. as our “Employee of the Month”
