Good Day:
Very rarely am I blown away by retail customer service but this morning
at your store I was blasted into near-Nirvana.
My happy experience began when I asked a busy blond haired gentlemen #3445
with a hat and glasses in Produce if he stocked ginger root. With an Palatine
immediate, smiling “sure do” he led me down an aisle to the bin, and cracked
a joke about ginger saying “hey it’s easy to miss.”
My wife had the flu so I stopped by Floral for a “get well gift.” The pleasant
clerk was incredibly helpful in suggesting potted flowers, offering to
wrap them and spending several minutes beautifully arranging my gift. I doubt
I would have received finer service in the best north shore flower shop.
As I cruised over to Osco a young gent with glasses approached and asked if
I needed help. A couple minutes later that same man and I crossed paths, asking
If I was “sure” he couldn’t be of assistance.
As checkout Kris the cashier was all smiles and cheer. Even the gentlemen
bagger, just returned from cart chasing on a sleeting winter day, had a smile
and well-wishes as I left.
Amazon and others may be a threat but if your corporate office can decipher and
export “the heart” that your team puts into their jobs everyday there is a bright
future for stores like Jewel-Osco.
Sincerely,
Christopher Ellis
