Helping you to flourish
With the festival site located within an area of Scientific Special Interest and a Habitat Mitigation Zone we are acutely aware of the possible impact on the environment and wildlife within the local area. The effect of the sound distribution outside of the festival site is detailed earlier in this document and we have considered, and will put in place, policies to minimise our impact.
Zero Impact
It is our intention to leave the site as we found it. In effect, having zero impact post the event. We will put in place measures to reduce our impact, including raising the FOH control onto staging and matting at the bottom of stage steps and ramps to reduce the impact of concentrated footfall. In addition rather than dig the multicore in from FOH to stage we will use fit for purpose cable ramps to save disturbing the ground. In the event of very wet weather we will consider using vehicle track when siting and removing the stage. Please note this is not part of the tender and we would work with the festival organisers to reduce any impact on the site in this instance.
Plastics
It is commonly recognised that single use plastics, including water bottles, coffee cups and cutlery are easily avoidable and it is our policy to use alternatives. Onsite our crew will have reusable water bottles, mugs for hot drinks and our crew area will allow for washing facilities and refrigeration reducing the need for single use food packaging.
Waste Management
Waste is unfortunately unavoidable on a festival of this length. Inline with our policy of zero impact and our health and safety measures, we will ensure that litter generated on or back stage or at our front of house position, from the moment we are onsite, is disposed of correctly and swiftly using the festival’s waste management and recycling all materials wherever possible.
Light Pollution
Being within a Habitat Mitigation Zone we have looked at the possible impact of stage and security lighting on wildlife. With the majority of the festival happening during daylight hours and no stage lighting being used between 12 and 4am (the period of time that can increase any effect on wildlife by 50%) we do not feel any special measures need to be taken. We will however run security lighting on PIRs over night to minimise any possible effect.
