Fantasy and real life...
Having an ability to transform into mutant, becoming super human, turn out to be super-fast guy that can
destroy the universe or to be gifted with the power of the sun and fighting for justice moreover protecting
the earth from some crazy weirdos, who wants to destroy it. Any ordinary middle schooler wouldn’t be
complaining about having that kind of story in their boring, gloomy life.
Or so, that’s what I thought.
Did you really believe that if you had that kind of power, your life would become like superheroes? If that’s
the case, you will just become another villain who yearns for power. World is peaceful enough to the point
that humans would kill another just because of their own sake.
If I faced a question “What would you do if you had superpower” 2 or more years ago, I probably would have
been said something like “beating up bad guys”. However, things are different now. I’ve matured a little bit
from what I used to be like. For example, I stopped wearing ‘cap’, started to think about what I’m about to
say and became more thoughtful.
Even so, there were several regretful things about it. I realized that what world need isn’t hero who protects
it but someone who can influence development of world. Well… it’s not like I will refuse if I have been
offered to possess some sort of cool powers. But then what? Fight with imaginary villains? Become a
YouTuber? Or protect earth from something that doesn’t exist? I don’t think it would be adventurous like in
movies.
I understand the difference between fantasy and real life and that’s why I’ll just hide that power and
secretly investigate it.
