Special Olympics
Dear Parents,
We have been invited to walk in the 2019 Law Enforcement Torch Run for
Special Olympics on Tuesday, April 9th. We will be joining other “ exceptionally
awesome” students from surrounding school in Suwannee County as we march
together in support of the Special Olympics. The ESE department paid for our
children to wear special “Torch Run” Special Olympics shirts that will be put on
them prior to us leaving that morning. The walk will be held around the high
school and around Pine Avenue. Local law enforcement officers will be on hand in
support of this worthy cause. We are honored to get to participate this year and
would love to have parents come out and support us while raising awareness for
the Special Olympics.
We are to meet at the high school at 9:30 am and will be riding over by bus. It
starts at 10:00 am. They estimate it may take 2 hours to complete the entire walk.
We will see how our kids are feeling half way to see if we will venture on and com-
plete the loop or walk back t o our school. They will be taking lots of photographs
of the event .
