ROPE MATERIALS
NYLON POLYPROPYLENE
Nylon is recognized in the marine industry for its inherent strength, durability, Polypropylene offers high strength-to-weight performance and is available in
and versatility. Its elasticity allows it to manage the sudden shock loads that many construction methods using monofilament fibers, which are smooth and
would break ropes constructed from other materials, making it a leading choice velvety, and multifilament fibers. Both fiber types are UV stabilized to provide
for anchor and dock lines. Nylon is also abrasion resistant and will last much resistance against fading and degradation. Waterproof polypropylene ropes float
longer than natural fiber ropes. and are also resistant to rot, oils, gasoline, and most chemicals.
Made from multifilament fibers that are light and heat stabilized, nylon rope is
also resistant to rot, oils, gasoline, grease, marine growth, and most chemicals. Benefits
• Economical and versatile
Benefits • Resistant to UV light, rot, abrasion, mildew, oils, gasoline,
