THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM (TDS)
TDS can lock your engine(s) to prevent unauthorized use.
With 1st Mate, you can unlock the vessel via proximity of the
captain’s wearable and/or the “unlock function” of the app
(via PIN, fingerprint, face recognition, etc.).
Mercury SmartCraft engines can also allow
high-idle operation for service access to the
vessel without unlocking it.
If compatible Mercury SmartCraft engines are removed
from a boat, they are rendered nonfunctional without the
unlocking “handshake” from the 1st Mate hub.
