             NASCAR moving away from restrictor plates, not pack racing

                                                                                                                                NASCAR's  expectation  is
                                                                                                                                that  reducing  horsepow-
                                                                                                                                er  —  in  connection  with  a
                                                                                                                                larger  spoiler  that  creates
                                                                                                                                more  downforce  —  will
                                                                                                                                slow  the  cars  down,  lead
                                                                                                                                to  more  stability  for  drivers
                                                                                                                                and  produce  tighter  rac-
