Caring
FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY
L ocal. Professional. Trustworthy. Reliable. These are the adjectives Susan and Digger Donahue lobbed back and forth as they sat down to share their impressions of NVNA and Hospice. Susan acknowledged that the Donahue family has had so
many personal experiences with NVNA and Hospice over the years that they understand the importance of quality home health care services and its value to the community.
Digger, a 69-year resident of Norwell, has always considered the Norwell Visiting Nurses to be the local choice when it comes to home health care. Digger reflected, “They provide the professional assistance needed for just the right amount of time, phased into your recovery plan appropriately and effectively when it can be most valuable.”
Reflecting on the 100th year anniversary, Susan celebrated retired CEO Meg Doherty for her vision. “In an effort to
understand the patient and their needs, Meg integrated home health care and social services in a way that worked to help maximize the needs of the patient.”
“The healthcare system is fragmented and breaking down on many levels,” remarked Susan. “But NVNA and Hospice is a practical choice that provides services to meet the individual needs of the patient. And most importantly, they are patient-centric.”
Digger adds, “They tune into the entire family. After two knee replacements, a hip replacement, caring for our aging parents, and many we know who have called upon their hospice services, we recognize that the NVNA and Hospice staff not only provided the professional services needed, but they became an extension of the family. Now they are friends.” n
