to make sure that Bob is healthy enough to enjoy what is important to him, like spending time with his five children and sixteen grandchildren.
Bob said that home care is like the “comfort of a palace” and enjoys spending time with Gerry. She also appreciates her visits with Bob. Gerry always introduces Bob to her new nursing students. His friendly nature and interesting stories make the visits pleasant, and he is very encouraging to young nurses.
Bob and Gerry really show how home care nursing is special. Just like our first nurses 100 years ago they have a neighborly rapport. Their relationship is about way more than medical orders. “Gerry helps me persevere,” says Bob.
We are so lucky to have both Bob and Gerry in our home care neighborhood. n

“If she didn’t fix my legs, I would not be able to walk,” says Hannan. “And I think if more people walked every day, they would feel much better and live much longer.”
