PAUL J. SINCOCK - Outgoing President
Paul was born and raised in the City of Plymouth and he was raised in a Rotary
Family, as his Father was extremely active in the Plymouth Rotary. His mother was also
involved in what was known at the time as "Rotary Anns." Paul participated in several
community service projects and worked on the Rotary Chicken Bar-Be-Que ever since he
was old enough and able to participate on the serving line. Paul attended his first Rotary
District Conference while still in high school and he helped serve the refreshments on the
train to Toronto. Also, while in high school Paul was a "Junior Rotarian" and then Principal
Bill Brown selected Paul to be the "Junior Rotarian President" and to lead the meeting that
was put on by that group of high schoolers.
Paul represents the club's first father and son combination to serve as President.
Paul's father, Bob, served as Club President in 1975 - 76 and served as Executive Secretary
for the Club for a number of years.
Paul's Rotary family continues today as he is married to wife Traci, who is a member and Past President of the
Northville Rotary Club. It was Paul who contacted a member of the Northville Rotary Club over ten years ago to
suggest that Traci would be a great member of their organization. Traci serves the Northville Community as Parks and
      Recreation Director.
Paul joined Plymouth Rotary in 198 I and was almost immediately put co work on the Broadcaster Committee by
then Plymouth Observer Editor and Committee Chairperson Emory Daniels. Since that time Paul has served the club
on a number of Committees, including the Sgt. Ac Arms, Broadcaster, Community Service and the Rotary Memorial
Scholarship. Paul also served on the Plymouth Rotary Foundation Board for six years and served one year as President
      of the Foundation Board.
Paul has been an active participant at a number of Rotary District Conferences as a commentator/moderator/
emcee for sessions. He has been an active participant at conferences in Traverse City, Grand Rapids and most recently
on Mackinac Island when Plymouth Rotary Member Ed Schulz was District Governor.
Paul has worked for the City of Plymouth for over twenty years and has served the City in a number of capacities
including Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation, Public Safety Director, Assistant City Manager, Director of
Municipal Services and is currently serving as the City Manager.
Paul believes and lives the Rotary motto of Service Above Self. Paul is a Paul Harris Fellow and is currently
working on obtaining his Walter Panse Fellowship. Paul is extremely proud of the fact that the Panse Fellowship
Program was established during his term as President. This effort has resulted in "new" money being contributed to
the Plymouth Rotary Foundation for dedicated programs in the Plymouth community.
