Hygieniser 100™
Faecal Sludge Treatment Unit
One of the many great challenges for WASH technicians in the field is the appropriate
collection, treatment, storage and disposal of blackwater (faeces, urine, flushing water
and other cleaning materials).
The Hygieniser 100™ is a ‘plug and play’ fully automated module that can batch treat
effluent at a rate of up to 1,200 litres per day. The effluent is treated by heating it to
a sufficient temperature to eliminate harmful pathogens before pumping the sterilised
sewage to a chosen collection point.
The Hygieniser 100™ is constructed using reliable technology and commonly available
parts, making repairs and maintenance incredibly easy. The automation and pumps can
be run on either mains current or with a generator (not included) and the unit uses
diesel fuel for pasteurisation.
The unit ships on a single pallet 80 x 120 x 158cm with a gross weight of 263 kg.
The module can be connected to an exisiting sewer system. Where this is not a viable option,
bladder tanks for storage and transport can be supplied.
The system is scalable by running additional units in parallel.
Hygiene Promotion Kit
Hygiene promotion is a fundamental and essential tool in increasing awareness and
helping to prevent disease caused by poor sanitation and hygiene practises.
Butyl Group are pleased to offer a range of Hygiene Promotion kits designed to create
awareness and understanding of the importance of good hygiene practises.
The kits are designed for use at community level where populations are dispersed, and
contain materials and supplies for implementation of activities in various settings such
as puppet kits, information posters, white boards / markers, banners and laminated
information leaflets as well as books and cd’s. The kits can be tailored to your specific
needs and are boxed and packed for worldwide shipping.
Flexigester - Anaerobic Digestion
The Flexigester kit is an anaerobic digestion system manufactured from flexible black
butyl rubber which converts organic waste into biofertiliser and biogas. The Flexigester
kit is available in a variety of sizes and contains the equipment you need to treat the
waste and to collect and store the gas, including a unique gas regulation system.
The Flexigester promotes health; it can be attached directly to a pour-flush latrine
system, removing sewage for the latrine area and reducing odours and risk of disease
caused by flies and other vermin.
The biogas produced can help to replace charcoal and wood as a fuel source, while the
nutrient rich liquor can be used as fertiliser to enrich the soil and promote crop growth.
