B-s2,d0 insulaion sheets now also available
Armacell completes its range of products with lim- ited smoke development with insulation sheets in standard and self-adhesive versions.

In many European countries, the legislators have recognized that strong smoke development poses a much higher hazard potential in a fire than the flames themselves. This has led to considerably tighter requirements regarding the smoke development of building products in recent years. In many states, only technical insulation materials which achieve at least fire class B/BL-s1,d0 may be installed in buildings or areas of buildings which require special fire protection. Other coun- tries, however, allow the use of B/BL-s2,d0 products for the time being.
Limited smoke development
Alongside its premium product Armaflex Ultima, the first elastomeric insulation material in the world to achieve the best fire class for organic
products, Armacell provides the B/BL-s2,d0 product Armaflex LS in Switzerland and Italy. Whereas s1 products must display no or only minimal smoke development in the SBI test, the limit values for s2 products are significantly higher. Yet these materials still release far less smoke than s3 products.
Complete range
After initially launching Armaflex LS insulation tubes in Switzerland and Italy, Armacell has now completed the range with sheets in standard and self-adhesive versions. Sheet and tube materials are supplied in insulation thicknesses of 9 to 32 mm. Armaflex LS self-adhesive tape is also available.
