Embassy of Salamia
It is a birthday party. It is a gathering of Bureaucrats. Present Saxena, Shankar, Geff Atkinson
Geff Welcome Gentlemen, I am eagerly waiting for you since afternoon
rd
Shankar Come on geff, this is not an official meet to run around the time. It is your 3
th
consecutive 48 B’day. Am I right sack ( with a grin)
Saxena Exactly. Geff anything novel today or the traditional drink O’ party.
Geff (Flicking his eyes) you amphibians. I’ve a unique thing for you. But that’s all after the
usual celebrations. Come on.
After a while [ Some actions without dialogue)
Shankar Sack! Have you ever thought of a thing ?
Saxena About ….
Shankar About our language through which we communicate or converse.
Saxena Nay. We have understood each other. Our wave length syncked. What else required
for a good relationship yaar. You are always fond of “hot thinking”.
Shankar Listen man. Both of us are Indians but we converse in an European Language. Have
you ever given a thought to this.
Saxena Laughs…. That’s an historical stupidity. Europeans bundled us.
Shankar If we limit our history to the last 5 decades what would you say then?
Saxena We are all unique with our own diverse cultures yaar. We are all equivalent to the
countries of Europe but made into a single country India the Bharat.
Shankar So bharat is made into a country with a continental stuff.
Both of them laughs as the very utterance refers to a food item they were carrying in their plates
Saxena I agree with you in full.
Shankar But after declaring ourselves as a nation, is it not mandatory on our part to arrive at a
common language to communicate with our fellow countrymen.
Saxena Of course we should and we have. That’s rajbasha.
Shankar But sack we still resist the idea of making Hindi as a link language.
Saxena That’s little primitive is in it?
Shankar Sack can we share our private opinions about sensitive issues here in this place without
the knowledge of geff as you know I am very poor in Hindi.
Saxena becomes serious after understanding the meaning behind shanker’s question.
Then he slowly nodes
Shankar It shouldn’t be out of compulsion or by coercion that one should learn a language, it
should be out of his own will and wish. It should be natural for any good relationship.
Saxena Yeas….yeas
Shankar Though it is a compromise for any one to accept a language other than their mother
tongue as a common link language, it should be accepted for the sake of nation and its
upliftment and on top of all for our mutual development.
Saxena That’s true shanky. I accept that.
Shankar All the more, the perception of implementation is the beginning of our mutual
understanding as “Indians” rather being identified by our own linguistic Tags. If we
think this, new power will emerge amoung us to fight against any partisan plots that
may slow down our development as a nation.
Saxena True. We’ll discuss this seriously and gather a movement to involve people to
participate in this movement with deep emotional involvement with strong
understanding. You always analyse things with both your head and heart. Hats off
shanky.
Shankar Thank you sack for understanding me rightly.
