                                                        Restoration

Dr. Chih-Ming Kao, Chair Professor of the Institute
of Environmental Engineering is one of the leading
researchers in the areas of polluted land remediation
                                                        and environmental restoration in Taiwan.

He was sponsored by Taiwan Environmental
Protection Administration and Ministry of Science
and Technology to develop a series of green and
                                                        sustainable remediation technologies for polluted
site cleanup. These technologies include innovative,
                                                        long-lasting, and nano-zero valent iron-contained
colloidal substrates to enhance the bioremediation
processes, biobarrier system for plume containment,
and novel strains for contaminant biodegradation.
The developed remediation system is a cost-
effective, in situ, and biological technology,
which reduces the carbon emissions during site
remediation. Thus, it is cutting-edge and a cleaner
                                                        remediation method.
