P. 5
The starting point for reasonable (rational) energy consumption (i.e. energy
saving) is the “fan operating point”.
The accuracy of the aerodynamic selection of a centrifugal fan and ensure
that the minimum amount of electricity consumed. This is especially true
of medium and high-pressure fans, small room fans (small centrifugal
fans).
The selection method based on new parameters will provide a high
accuracy of determining the “operating point of the fan” (more precisely,
the “operating point of the ventilation system”), which is superior to the
existing generally accepted one.
In the selection of the fan 'static pressure' will no longer be necessary.
Obtaining an exact “operating point of the fan” will reduce the use of
expensive frequency-regulating devices on electric motors.
Currently, it can be noted that:
designers do not understand the process of movement of air flow in
the ventilation system;
adjusters (traffic controllers) makes measurements of the amount of
air passing through and change it using available methods;
the designers of the ventilation part of the machines and mechanisms
use only “power” methods (they increase the engine speed and its
power);
designers, adjusters, designers cannot, if necessary, with increased
accuracy, replace the fan in an existing fan installation with another
fan - in order to obtain new parameters of this fan installation;
energy saving (power consumption) in the ventilation unit is not
given due attention.
Thus, the existing methods (actually, contradictory opinions, not the
methods; see a number of forums, recommendations on the selection of
companies producing and implementing fans) the selection of a centrifugal
fan to the ventilation network due to the lack of theoretical assumptions
and research work lead to an inaccurate final result according to the
performance and pressure of the ventilation system, because:
for the “full pressure” method - when designing, “safety factors” are
used for pressure and productivity (recommended or entered
administratively); and, as a result, quantitative (power) regulation is
applied by means of throttling devices; and also applies quality
