STATEMENT OF PERSONAL LEARNING GOALS.

English is a universal language that people need to dominate because of its influence
around the world. This language is very important in many aspects like education, society, and

the technological advances we have in these days. So, English is a language that has important
roles and that is why people study this language in many areas. “The History and Language of

English Culture” is a subject that allows students to know in a deep way where this language
comes from and the different features that it has and also, some important things about English

language and its effects and influence in aspects such as: traditions, customs among others.

There are many reasons why I chose this subject, specifically in “The History and
Language of English Culture” I will identify the impact of American culture and the

English language in a global setting, recognize cultural variety and linguistic differences
in the United States, examine the complex interaction between demographics and language

in American and Ecuadorian contexts, interpret the cultural and linguistic impact of the

Hispanic population on the United States and American English through analysis of literary
works, and explain the symbiotic relationship between American popular culture and

American English slang. These aspects, will help me in my professional development

because through this subject I will learn things that I will consider important to transmit to
others.

I will contribute to attain the learning outcomes successfully I will receive and analyze

the knowledge that will be given to me. I will take the most important aspects that are going to
be very useful for me. Also, I will clarify any doubt I will have through investigating more at
home or asking to the teacher.
