 R. PRICE AND K. MUCKELROY: THEKENNEMERLAND
C Clay pipes"
Over 400 fragments of clay pipes have been recovered exhibiting more than a dozen differ- ent types of heel marks, and several variations of stem decoration. At present, the indications are that they are all the products of the Gouda factories.
D. Salt glazed stoneware"
As reported previously (Price & Muckelroy, 1974: 266) four complete Bellarmine flagons had been recovered from this site by the end
of the 1973 season; the 1976 excavations pro- duced a further complete, although broken, example (76 K 120; Site G, -12-8/ 0-9).In addition, over 800 fragments of this type of pottery have been recovered, including a con- siderable number of different masks and medallions.
E. Oil-jarpottery*
In 1973, 28 fragments were found, which seem to have come from a massive (i.e. more than a metre high) storage vessel of the 'oil-jaf type (Site A).
G. Earthenware and other pottery'
A virtually complete pipkin was illustrated in the 1973 report (Price & Muckelroy, 1974:fig. 9); substantial portions of similar vessels have been discovered, along with sherds from earthen- ware plates and bowls, particularly on Sites C, F and G; also substantial quantities of a very coarse ware, probably derived from small cru- cibles.
H. Glass*
Over 1000 fragments of green bottle glass have been recovered, including several dozen complete bottle bases. In addition, some frag- ments of clear fine glass have been found, usu- ally in a much better state of preservation than the green glass.
I. Pewter bottle tops*
