works. We are singing, praying, teaching, and
ministering in many other ways. We are doing
works! BUT, THESE WORKS ARE NOT THE
RIGHT WORKS. These are dead works since there
has not been sufficient communication with God to
know exactly what to do. Knowing the right way to
liberate ourselves and improve our communities
requires that we petition God.

Our unwillingness to make prayer the main
activity of the Church has contaminated our faith
causing our works to be lifeless and ineffective
preventing our current genocide.

Unless we strive to consider prayer as the most
important activity in the Church,

Our faith will continue to be contaminated,
Our works will continue to be dead,
Our genocidal demise will continue.

In closing, it is terribly unfortunate that many
leaders of the Black Church do not understand how
important total surrender to God by prayer will en-
able God to give us the right tools to conquer any
evil especially systemic racism. From many per-
sonal experiences I know this. Shortly, after Mayor
DeBaisio assumed office, a prominent Pastor asked
