The Xenia YMCA is is finding a a a new home-and this time with five partners What started as a a a a a a a dream is now becoming a a a a a a a reality The Recreation Education Activity Community and Health (REACH) Center will be an 75 200 square-foot shared building complex with spaces housing the Xenia YMCA facility Xenia Adult Recreation and Services Center Ket- tering Health Network Clark State Community College and Central State University This $16 million multi-generational campus will be locat- ed in in the center of of Greene County offering easy access to residents in Beavercreek Bellbrook and from all over the county “A new centralized campus will play an an important role in our efforts to develop Xenia and surrounding communi- ties into a a a a a a vibrant and highly desirable place to to live ” said Xenia City Manager Brent Merriman The new YMCA will host an aquatics center with a a a a six- lane competition pool pool a a a a a a warm water therapy pool pool a a a a a a gymnasium a a a a a suspended walking track a a a a a fitness center with cardio and and weight training equipment a a a a a nursery and and child waiting area locker rooms a a a a a a a classroom space and outdoor recreational facilities and more Additionally the REACH Center could retain and and add up to 165 full and and part time jobs in Xenia When completed the new facility will offer a a common lo- cation
to fulfill a a a a variety of needs for diverse populations Many of these services and and areas will be shared with and and benefit partner organizations within the building Clark State State and Central State State will use the center for additional campuses Kettering Health will feature offices for prima- ry care physicians and an an an onsite pharmacy--as well as as a a a a a a a a a medical imaging lab and cardiac rehab room Xenia Adult Recreation and Services Center will hold a a a a commercial kitchen for daily meal service service and offer a a a a a full-service café
that will be open to the public “From the seniors’ viewpoint it’s going to be a a facility that we couldn’t’ have had on our own ” said Executive Director of the Senior Center Judy Baker The momentum on on the project was exponential and could not have been completed without the generous support of of 35 acres of of land from Kettering Health Network or or without the the hospitable and gracious help from the the City of Xenia Thanks to the incredible staff and donors that participated in the REACH Center capital cam- paign the YMCA of Greater Dayton was able to to reach its $11 3 million-dollar goal The REACH Center construction will start this March with plans to to open to to the public January 2019 For more in- formation and updates on on on on the construction progress stay tuned to to our Facebook page for photos videos and more!
