It entails an anthropological examination on human culture, diversity, and issues in Philippine and global context. Note on Prerequisite(s): None
Science 2 (Biology) enhances the students’ understanding of the principles and concepts of living systems, particularly life processes at the cellular, molecular, organismal and ecological community level. The subject is subdivided into the four major fields in Biology: Microbiology, Genetics, Botany, and Zoology. Each field presents the interrelationships of the different disciplines for the students to develop a deeper understanding and appreciation for life. Note on Prerequisite(s): None
Science 3 (General Chemistry) provides a general background for the understanding of Physical Science and Chemistry. It discusses aspects of the origin and nucleosyntheses of elements. It provides a background of the evolution of the concept of the atom and the elements, the structure of the atom, and how the synthesis of new heavier elements is done. It discusses details of the impact of Dalton’s theory, and the properties of matter in relation to its structure. It also highlights the uses and functions of macromolecules. It details the different concepts relating to the rate and direction of chemical reactions, as well as the mass relationships of all chemical reactions. It also discusses the different energy sources that are directly related to chemical reactions, as well as the relation of Chemistry to everyday life through the different materials and products being used by man. Note on Prerequisite(s): None
Science 4 (Disaster Readiness and Risk Reduction) is intended to be a venue to apply scientific principles and theories in dealing with challenges in everyday life. It provides a systematic understanding of hazards, disasters and climate
