THE ROAD LOG

Kitsap County Department of Public Works

The Road Log is a product of the long term commitment to Kitsap County Public Works’ Geographic Information System by the Surveying and
Mapping Section of the Engineering Division. This version of The Road Log reflects over 700 miles of Kitsap County roads identified using

Global Positioning System (GPS) equipped County vehicles. Locations were more closely identified using 2001 space imaging aerial photos.

                                   On the cover
The photo is of the Road Division’s screening plant that produces varying sizes of roadway aggregate used for shoulder material, chip rock,
winter sand and other roadway maintenance and construction applications. The photo was taken at the Lofall pit, located in North Kitsap.

The Lofall pit is one of five gravel pits and one hard-rock quarry the County operates.
