The term「South Taipei」indicates the south outskirts of Taipei Walled City. It is the core of
cultural and educational development in Taipei. The district embraces museums, schools, and most
important, Taipei Botanical Garden, which was founded in 1896, under early Japanese Ruling. In
the same area, there are the Guest House for Imperial Envoys built in 1892(Qing dynasty), and
historical architecture left by the Japanese. In addition to that, KMT government's relocation
from Mainland China to Taiwan after WWII also made an influence to culinary culture here.
Nowadays, visitors are still able to taste authentic homemade dishes from many other places at the
favored Nanmen Market. This tour will show you the best of South Taipei- culture and history,
traditional architecture, and featured local cuisine.

Envoys → NanmonCho 323 → Nanhai Academy → Taipei Municipal Jianguo High School
→ previous Taiwan Education Association Building(now National 228 Memorial Museum) →
General Association of Chinese Culture(GACC) → National Taiwan Museum Nanmen Park
→ Taiwan Tobacco & Liquor Corporation → Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall → Nanmen Market
